キリスト友会東京月会は、戦火の中にあるウクライナの人々に平和が訪れることを強く 望みます。

今、ウクライナにロシア軍が侵攻し、多くの市民を恐怖に陥れています。とりわけ、小さな子どもが泣き叫び、途方に暮れている老人の姿に心が痛みます。ウクライナの人々が一日 も早く、穏やかな日常に戻れるように願っています。

方、米国、日本をはじめ多くの国が、ロシアの武力行使に対して経済制裁を行っています。これによって、ロシア市民の生活が困窮すると予想されます。かつての日本軍部のように、ロシアが世界に向けて、無謀な戦争拡大をすることを恐れます。プーチン大統領は核兵 器の使用をほのめかしていますが、核兵器の使用は絶対に許されません。

私たち日本のクエーカーは、ウクライナ市民、ロシア市民、そして世界のフレンドととも にこの戦争に反対します。

Tokyo Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends strongly hopes that peace will come to the people of war ravaged Ukraine.

Right now, the citizens of Ukraine are in terror as their country is invaded by Russian troops. The sight of small children crying and old people with nowhere to go is especially heartbreaking. We hope that the people of Ukraine will be able to return to their peaceful everyday lives as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the United States, Japan and many other nations are deploying economic sanctions in response to Russia’s military actions. This can be expected to cause hardship for the lives of ordinary Russians. We fear that, just as the Japanese Army once did, Russia is about to recklessly plunge the whole world into war. President Putin has even hinted at the use of Nuclear Weapons, but use of nuclear weapons in any circumstances is absolutely unforgivable.

We Japanese Quakers stand together with the citizens of Ukraine and Russian and members of the Religious Society of Friends worldwide in opposing this war.
