今、安倍政権はこれまでの政府解釈を変更して、集団的自衛権の行使を容認することを閣議決定しようとしています。キリスト友会東京月会は、平和主義のクエーカーの信仰に基づき、これに強く反対します。

１．集団的自衛権の行使容認や武器輸出３原則の形骸化は、日本を再び戦争する国とする危険があります。私たちは他国の人々を傷つけることに加担するこれらの政府方針に反対します。

​

２．私たちは信仰とその実践として、すべての戦争に反対しています。市民（国）を守るのは軍事力ではありません。非暴力と愛の生き方によって諸国の人々との友好・親善による信頼関係を築くこと、そして真の知恵ある外交努力が市民を守ると確信します。

 

３．私たちは戦争を放棄し戦力を保持しないとする日本国憲法９条の理念を尊重し、非暴力平和主義の生き方を実践していきます。

The Abe administration is now seeking to change the long-standing government interpretation of the Constitution and to approve, by Cabinet decision, the exercise of the right of collective self-defense.
Tokyo Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends strongly opposes this move, based on our Quaker faith and commitment to pacifism.

​

1. Allowing the exercise of collective self-defense, along with the hollowing out of the Three Principles on Arms Exports, risks turning Japan once again into a nation that wages war. We oppose these government policies, which could involve Japan in harming people in other countries.

2. As a matter of faith and practice, we oppose all war. It is not military force that protects citizens. We believe that nonviolence and a life rooted in love—building relationships of trust and friendship among the peoples of the world—together with truly wise diplomatic efforts, are what protect society.

3. We respect the principles of Article 9 of the Constitution of Japan, which renounces war and the maintenance of military forces, and we are committed to living out a way of life grounded in nonviolent peace.
